About

Welcome to the McBride Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

The McBride Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) represents the parents and guardians of students attending Sir Richard McBride Elementary. Our mission is to foster a supportive and engaged community for McBride families while enhancing the educational experience for students. As a parent or guardian of a McBride student, you are automatically a member of the PAC and are encouraged to participate in meetings and activities.

What We Do

The PAC plays a vital role in supporting McBride Elementary in various ways:

  • Fundraising: A significant focus of the PAC is fundraising. The funds we raise support a wide range of school-based activities, including field trips, special events, enrichment programs, and classroom supplies.
  • Community Building: The PAC also helps foster a sense of community within the school by organizing events, facilitating communication, and providing opportunities for parents to get involved and connect with one another.
  • Advocacy: We act as a voice for parents, representing your interests in discussions with the school administration and the Vancouver School Board.

The PAC typically meets monthly to discuss ongoing initiatives, school updates, and upcoming events. Meeting agendas and more are sent out via our mailing list, which is the primary way we keep parents informed.

How to Get Involved

We welcome your involvement in our work! Our monthly meetings are open to all parents and guardians, and we encourage you to attend to share your ideas and help make McBride an even better place for our children. Can’t make a meeting? No worries. We’d still love to hear from you and get your input. We are always looking for volunteers for our many events and fundraising initiatives. Email us or attend one of our events and say hi!
